An intrinsic part of the Bright Paradise project is the exhibition catalogue, which contains essays by ten New Zealand writers, including expatriates Nigel Clark and Giovanni Intra. Catalogue writers will explore a diversity of topics such as contested versions of the Pacific Paradise, Hollywood in the Pacific, the sublime technicolour landscape of Los Angeles, Saatchi and Saatchi's relation to Herman Melville's Moby Dick and the way contemporary art both celebrates and questions the utopian vision.
